Blog 101 - Lesson 4 - Adding photos

Well, fall is in the air and we are getting ready for winter.  We have split and stacked the firewood.  Jon covered it a couple of weeks ago, thank goodness.  We got 7 inches of rain last week.  We usually get less than an inch in October.

This lesson is dealing with posting photo's, so that's what I'm going to do.  In honor of the season I am going to post some of my favorite fall photos from 07 and 08.  I don't have any 09's downloaded yet.  So let's see if I can follow the lesson plan and add some eye candy.

This photo was taken in November of 2006.  We took a week's vacation at Thanksgiving and it was amazing to watch the house go up. We moved in in October of 2007.  Building a home is truly a remarkable experience.  Living 6 hours away and having a limited amount of vacation time was certainly a challenge.

Sadly this beautiful black oak fell in the winter of 2008.

We had a very wet and heavy snow and woke up the next morning to this frightful sight.  It broke our hearts, but with the help of  the neighbors Jon was able to cut and split over 5 cords of firewood the following spring.  So this year we will warm our hearts and our home courtesy of our old friend, Mr. Oak.

This is a shot of the pond in 2008 around the middle of November.  It isn't as colorful so far this year.

Hugs, Grandy L
