Welcome to our Retirement

Welcome to the Evers' family blog.  My husband and I retired in 2007 in the beautiful Sierra foothills in Central California.  We live in the small town of North Fork, California which is in the exact center of our beautiful state.  We are at the 3000 foot elevation and have the best of both worlds.  We are above most of the central California fog and below the heavy Sierra Mountain snows.  We are approximately 50 miles from Yosemite and near beautiful Bass Lake.

We designed and built our home in 2007 and retired from Boeing (formerly Rockwell/Autonetics) in Southern California.  We love to camp, fish and prospect for those lovely gold nuggets.  We started looking for property in the mountains in the 1980's.  We had many adventures while camping and looking for gold and a place to retire.

I have started this blog to keep in touch with our many friends and our family.  My son Kelly lives in Las Vegas and my husband's daughter, Teresa, her husband Cork and their four children live in Davis, California.  Most of our friends are retired and have scattered across the United States.

I am taking an on-line blogging class, so hopefully I will get comfortable with this new endeavor and keep up with the posts.
