Winter has come to the foothills

Well, it's Monday, December 7th and it's snowing.  So far we have over two inches and it's still snowing pretty heavily.  The storm is supposed to be gone by tomorrow and another storm is due by Thursday.  The snow will probably melt and I think the next storm is a warmer one, so it may not be a white Christmas.

Jon and I bought a 4 ft giant Sequoia tree for our Christmas tree this year.  We plan to plant it down the hill in front of the storage cargo container so that it will make a screen some day when it grows up.  We have two oak trees there, but they loose their leaves in the winter... so the do not screen the container from view.

We put the tree in the fire pit last night to keep it from blowing over in the wind.   I will put lights on it if the grandkids come for Christmas.  I will leave it outside because I don't want to take a chance on keeping it in the house.  When Jon get's the woodstove going, we get it up to 78 in the great room.
